About the National workshop on teaching in Immersive Worlds

IMMERS[ED] 2010; the Second National Workshop on Teaching in Immersive Worlds will be hosted by the School of Computing & Intelligent Systems and INCORE and will take place in the Great Hall of the University of Ulster, Magee Campus, Derry, Northern Ireland on Friday October 22nd 2010.
 
The objective of the event is to raise awareness of the benefits and possible pitfalls of using virtual and immersive worlds in an educational context and will provide practical advice and demonstrations from leading educators and industrial experts in this area.  Part of the programme of IMMERS[ED] 2010 will focus on conflict resolution and the use of virtual worlds in this context.
 
The workshop is organised by; the Serious Games & Virtual Worlds Research Team@ the Intelligent Systems Research Centre, the School of Computing & Intelligent Systems, Faculty of Computing and Engineering; and ARK/CAIN/INCORE (International Conflict Research Institute), Faculty of Social Sciences. The event is co-sponsored by the University of Ulster, Office of Innovation Knowledge Club Program and the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC)
